Are there any Chromebook restrictions for LumaFusion on Android?
If you have purchased LumaFusion on Android, you will be able to install it on other Android devices, as well as Chromebooks, as long as you are using the same Play Store log in.
We restricted some devices from being able to install LumaFusion using two criteria:
- The device must have at least 3 Gbytes of RAM
- The device must be running Android 10 or higher.
Here is how to find out what Android Version you are using on your Chromebook:
- Open the Settings App
- Tap on Apps
- Tap on Google Play Store
- Tap on Manage Android Devices
- On the next panel Scroll down to the bottom and tap on About Device. If you don’t see About Device, tap on System, then tap on About Device.
You should then see the Android version number
If you find that your Chromebook has enough RAM but is running Android 9 or lower, you might consider changing the ChromeOS channel to use a beta version of Chrome OS that uses Android 11.
Please note that you do this at your own risk. Reverting to the Stable channel will require a power wash of your device and may cause you to lose data.
You can find the channel options by
- Open the Settings App
- Tap on About ChromeOS
- Tap on Additional Details
- Tap on Change channel.
Once you tap on Beta, your Chromebook will start downloading a beta version of ChromeOS. Allow it to download and then restart your Chromebook. After you have installed the beta version of ChromeOS, you should check the Android Version number. If it is 10 or higher, you should now be able to install LumaFusion for Android and Chrome OS.
